Skirt border

Skirt border of embroidered linen in silks. Repeating pattern of double-headed eagles sprouting floral stems and larger floral stems with birds. Worked in red, blue, yellow, cream, dark and light green, and white silks in Cretan feather, stem, chain, and satin stitches with French knots on a linen ground. Narrow border of crochet along the bottom.
