Solidus of Justinian I (527-565). On the obverse a frontal bust of the emperor wearing a crested helmet; he holds an orb in his right hand and a shield in his left. On the reverse an angel, dressed in a long chiton and himation, holding a tall cross with with a Christogram in his right hand and an orb in his left. Constantinople mint. Diam. 0.02, Th. 0.001 m.
