As dawn comes to Florida's space coast, space shuttle Atlantis rolls out to Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The pad, in the background, is illuminated as preparations are made to receive Atlantis. First motion out of the Vehicle Assembly Building was at 6:38 a.m. EDT Oct. 14. The 3.4-mile trip, known as rollout, is expected to take about six hours.
