A Spanish 20th century (circa 1925) Talavera charger in blue and white depicts a crane in a landscape. Talavera de la Reina or the City of Pottery in Toledo Spain is renowned for its ceramics and is even today home to numerous ceramic workshops. The pottery kilns of Talavera were among the first in the world to use Renaissance techniques.
