Playing with miniature figures of animals or dolls has always been popular with children. As opposed to the modern material, plastic, toys used to be made from clay or decomposable materials, such as wood or straw, or in rare instances also from metal. Dice games, as attested to by the dice which have been found, were certainly popular with all age groups.
