  • Description: This work is exemplary of the most recent artistic production of Della Torre, and it illustrates his turn toward a geometric abstraction that is more marked than in his previous works. The large surface area, split into two frames, is dominated by the spatial tension of the composition, consisting of a few rhythmically juxtaposed forms. In Della Torre’s pictorial space, there is a continuous need for dialogue with the entire area of the canvas and with all of the available surfaces. In the case of this canvas, the whole piece is united by a vibrant white-gray background. The abstract nature of the work also has religious significance here. The blue and red color fields embody the symbolic meanings of, respectively, spirit and body, the primary values of human existence. Currently not on display.
