"Object of small size of devotion that belonged to Jesus Perez Rosales (Manila, 1896 – Barcelona, 1989).
The scene refers to a Jesus childhood apocryphal passage. The scenes with members of the Holy Family were frequent in Renaissance art. This representation faithfully follows the work known as the Little Holy Family, by Giulio Romano (Roma, 1499 – Mantua, 1546). But it was not until the XVIII century when it began to practice miniature on ivory, a technique that was very well received during the Rococo period."
