In Yip Yan-chuen’s paintings, he not only recorded the scenic places he travelled to, but also the daily life he observed. In Staff Quarters on Lung Cheung Road, Yip abandoned linear perspective and puttogether silhouette of the Lion Rock, buildings, and people into a pleasant landscape. They are urban landscape as well as snapshots of society. How did people from all walks of life lead their own lives under the Lion Rock?
