Stained Glass Window

National Museums Liverpool

National Museums Liverpool
United Kingdom

Stained glass window designed by W. and G. Audsley in Liverpool, England, 1880. The Audsley brothers designed this brilliantly-coloured stained glass window. They were Liverpool architects and designers who also wrote and illustrated books about design. The window shows their interest in geometric pattern, combined with the traditional lotus flower found in Egyptian art. The window was saved from ‘Heathlands’, a house in Sefton Park, Liverpool, demolished in the 1970s.
