During the latter half of the Unified Silla Period, many examples of standing Bhaisajyaguru Buddha became popular along with the seated ones. The bare right shoulder symbolizes humility and respect, and the round bowl in his left hand identifies the figure as Bhaisajyaguru Buddha, the one who heals all living things.
