"Stanisław August Poniatowski in coronation robes", oil on canvas. Stanisław August Poniatowski (1732– 1798) – between the years 1764–1795 King of Poland as Stanisław II August; the last ruler of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was at his will that the National Theatre was founded in 1765.
