Parade float in 1953 May Day Parade on Main Street in Moscow, Idaho, depicting a group of U.S. soldiers raising the United States flag on a hill. Yellow text around the bottom of the hill appears to read "Stars 'n Stripes Forever" and "Sigma Nu". A group of four men at the top of the hill are dressed in army uniforms with helmets gathered around a flag they are planting on the hill. Float is followed by a formation of marching soldiers in dress uniform carrying rifles or bayonets. Building in background located at 112 North Main, people line the street. Signs in the background appear to read "Corner Club", "New Hotel Idaho", "Ad Club", "Idaho", "Hotel", and "B.P.O.E. 249" (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks).
