The J. Paul Getty Museum
Los Angeles, United States

A hollow bronze statuette of a seated dog. The statuette is intact except for the rear-right foreleg, much of the tail, and several small holes in the body. The dog rests on his haunches and turns his head backwards and to the right, looking over his shoulder. The eyes are hollow and the mouth slightly opened. The dog's ears stand upright and are covered in thick fur. More thick, wavy fur appears around the neck in a mane-like fashion and continues down the chest. The rest of the fur is rendered with wavy incised lines. A collar is evident around the back of the neck.
