The body of the crouching ape is conical in shape and made of green glass with white combed decoration. The head, legs, and tail are applied. The head is of green glass with red glass used for the ears, eyes, nostrils, and smiling mouth. Red and black glass is used for the tail, legs, and the drum that connects the ape to its circular base. The base is tall and of green glass. Weathering has caused some discoloration, especially around the body of the ape.
