The statuette, cast in bronze, is lacking part of the legs, and has a very worn surface.
The goddess rests on her left leg, has her right hand on her breast and her left hand on her pubis. The head is turned to the left and wears a semi-lunate diadem, placed on the hair divided into two bands around the forehead and long locks on the nape.
This iconography of "Venus pudica" dates back to a statuesque prototype from the 4th century B.C. and was very popular for worship and aesthetic reasons. According to stylistic comparison the statuette probably dates back to the 2nd century AD.
Similar statuettes are attested in northern Italy.
The small bronze statue has the inscription "Boretto Fondo Chialdo" in black ink on the back.
