Steam Yacht Gondola, Coniston Water, Cumbria

The 'Gondola' was built in 1859 by the Furness Railway Company as a tourist attraction. It was subsequently used as a houseboat but was abandoned in the 1960s. In the 1970s it was restored by the National Trust and once again gives pleasure to tourists on Coniston Water.
