Stereoscope with Images of Carl Sandburg

Carl Sandburg sold stereographs for Underwood and Underwood on and off for nearly seven years. According to biographer Penelope Niven, "the photographs stimulated him, and with the views in the leatherette bag began his lifelong interest in the visual image" (59-60).
