A rounded stewing pot (puchero) with two side handles and a rounded convex lid with a knob handle in the shape of a spinning top. The inside is glazed. The body is somewhat elongated and the base somewhat flattened. The mouth is wide with lips marked by a rim.

The province of Granada is considered to have five pottery centres: the city proper, the northwest of the province, west of the province, south of Granada and Ugiyar. The province is notable because of the high density of potteries and their richness and variety since it has a larger number of pottery centres than Córdoba. One possible reason was the lower economic growth of eastern Andalusia, which allowed the functional nature of pottery to persist longer, thereby avoiding the loss of techniques and types. This is why the most extensive repertory of techniques in the world of traditional pottery is documented in Granada: from elementary shapes to glazing with cuerda seca (dry cord) or tin, including lead sulphide baths and the decoration with oxides of kaolin slipware.

The centre in the south of the province is the most eclectic since the first two centres, Almuñecar and Motril, have no commercial outlet for their pieces despite their focus on production for tourists. The third, Orgiva in the Alpujarras hills, stands out from the earlier centres, especially in the typology: technically they resemble the centre in Granada city, but it can be considered marginal because of the seasonal work of the potters who cannot find an outlet for more production.
