Was born in Troviscal, Oliveira do Bairro, on the 5th March of 1905 and died in Lisbon on the 24th November of 1977. A multifaceted character, he was a lawyer, a self-taught painter (since the age of 4) and a neorealist, antifascist militant and an opponent of the Estado Novo Regime. Arlindo Vicente took on old themes and made a new work, singing, with the oil ink, the epic journey of ordinary people, and his canvas are documents of an age and life without glory or a history.
