Beolmeongdeok, a cover for a conventional beehive, served as a roof under which bees could store honey and breed. It is conical in shape, with a straw rope affixed to the tip for easy opening. It was usually made with straw, and sometimes coated with cow dung to prevent rain from leaking in.
