Le Havre - Port 2000 was a project to extend the port of Le Havre on its southern fringe aiming to increase its capacity to accommodate intercontinental container ships. In December 2001, the Drassm was informed for the first time, by an anonymous letter, of the undeclared discovery of old cannons during the development work carried out by the Port Autonome du Havre. Rumors of discoveries and destruction of archaeological sites persisted throughout the first half of 2002. They finally came to a head in June 2002 when the Robin Hood environmental association reported the destruction to Drassm and the media. of an archaeological site on the site of Port 2000 (Operation Le Havre Port 2000)
