Syndicated from 1985 to 1995, the daily comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes" traced the adventures of precocious 6-year-old Calvin and his faithful and mature tiger stuffed animal, Hobbes. At the peak of its popularity, the strip appeared in more than 2,400 newspapers. Although no official licensed merchandise was based on the strip, this tiger was marketed on eBay as being Hobbes.
