  • About the Work: Luis Roldán works with painting, drawing, mixed media, video and sculpture. His work is characterized by the use and deconstruction of scrap materials from his workshop and the street; and methodological and systematic repetition as a strategy for the documentation of intimate moments, both personal and collective. The work Sueños, 2005 consists of a drawing with graphite and thread, emphatically specified as “bed sheet threads,” which form lines and shapes that allude to the image of a body in bed, narrating a story that seems to be fleeing away with the wind or the motion of time. The idea of a bed sheet as a collector of dreams invites the viewer to reflect on memories or past experiences that may be triggered by the ethereal outlines in the drawing.
