Suffrage banner

The size and composition of the banner suggests it was not probably created for carrying in a spectacular procession. It is more likely to have been hung in a meeting hall or behind a stall or exhibition stand. The banner has been made from a piece of fabric usually used for cross stitch suggesting the banner maker found the fabric amongst her needlework box at home.
