A Suffragette addresses the crowd during Womens Sunday 21st June 1908.
Womens Sunday was the first 'monster meeting' to be organised by the Women's Social and Political Union. Trains were specially chartered to bring in thousands of suffragettes from all over Britain to march in seven processions to Hyde Park where 20 temporary platforms were erected in a circle for 80 speakers to address the crowds. This image depicts the scene at Platform 6 that was headed by Mrs Rosamund Massy. Before the speaker is a banner held by Irish Suffragists taking part in the rally.
