A sugar bowl with a simple round shape with two angular handles has a lid with a flower shaped knob. Along the outer edge is an engraved decoration with a motif of a garland in characteristic classicising style. The sugar basin was done by the Zagreb goldsmith and silversmith Vinko Lehman. We know rather little about him; he was probably born in 1786, and lived to 1819. He had an established workshop in Zagreb, in which up to 1820 three assistants and one apprentice worked, attending the Zagreb drawing school. Extant objects tell of the high quality, workmanship and great productivity of Lehman, whose workshop was inherited after his death by his widow Julijana.
