This Fortuny design is similar to the brocade velvets of the late 15th century, which can be found in the Poldi Museum in Milan.

Vertical, rectangular piece. Smooth silk velvet in old gold with a grainy-looking, green stenciled design. Plant design with large curving branches among which pomegranate and other floral motifs are arranged. The edges are finished with a hem and it is lined with an orange supporting fabric.
