This is a circular shaped iron sword guard. It has open work of fan-shaped patterns in four directions, leaving the motif of flying wild geese on the upper and lower parts. None of the fan shapes have the same pattern. It is a sophisticated design showing various expressions of each shape. It is believed to have been owned by the 3rd lord, Tachibana Akitora.
