Obverse: Head of the greek nymph Arethuse, surrounded by dolphins. Inscription: ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣ[ΙΟΝ](to the right), EΥΑΙΝΕΤ[ΟΣ] (under the neck). Reverse: quadrigua galloping to the left, coronated by Nike. At the exergue (borderline) armure and the inscription ΑΘΛΑ. The issue of these coins is related to the victories of the tyrant of Syracuse Dionysius I against the Carthagenians.
