Syria-Lebanon Nationality Room

View of the Syria-Lebanon Nationality Room inside the Cathedral of Learning. The Syria-Lebanon room, dedicated on June 28, 1941, was originally a library in an 18th century home in Damascus. The walls and ceilings are covered in "gesso-painting," in which chalk and glue are applied and then painted with silver and gold leaf. The room contains satin cushions, a marble floor, and a copper mosque lamp.
