This
table has three shelves, two rectangular and protruding on the sides, and a smaller
square one fixed to the four legs by slender connecting elements. The wooden
top is decorated with thin, threadlike, intertwined metal stems, which link
small mother-of-pearl flowers inlaid into the wood and recall the ornamental
compositions of Eugenio Quarti. This model shows a
more balanced and harmonious use of curved and orthogonal lines, marking the
transition in Carlo Zen's production from an initial adhesion to floral style, to
a more sober, functional one.
