With a wingspan of up to 6 feet (1.8 m), Tapejara wellnhoferi is one of the smaller Brazilian crested species. The animal, which lived around 110 million years ago, sported a rounded crest: unlike most pterosaur crests, the largest part is at the front of the head, though there’s also a pointed tip at the back.
