This famous tapestry has only been preserved in fragments: it was damaged in a fire before it becamepart of the collection of the museum. It depicts two scenes from the medieval
saga Knight of the Swan. Supposedly, the tapestry once belonged to the Duke of Burgundy who considered the Knight of the Swan to be one of his mythical ancestors.
