This excellent Korean tea bowl is named “Sumifuki” (ink spray). The name is derived from the misty pattern over the white glazed surface as if it is sprayed with ink. The distorted body is called “Amikasa-gata” (straw hat style), which is created by pushing strongly at the rim. The combination of these pushing marks and the ink-spray pattern gives a rich appearance to this piece.
