This braizer is a valuable example of Kamachi ware which was the ceramic of the Yanagawa domain. It shows the elegant appearance with bright patchy patterns on the delicate and shiny skin which is created by polishing after rubbing charcoal powder into the unglazed earthen ware. The inscription reads "Kyushu earthenware master" which was marked on the highest rank ceramic in Kyushu region. Up to the present, only three ceramics with this inscription were found including this braizer. It also has a gourd-shaped inscription of the potter’s name "Houetsu".
