Statuette of a team of oxen or bulls pulling a wagon. The small, model-like copper sculpture depicts two precisely fashioned draught animals harnessed to a four-wheeled wagon. The detailing on the wagon identifies it as a representation of a wooden original. Evidence of full-size examples of such wagons has been found in graves in Alacahöyük, Turkey. The model, dating from the early Bronze Age, was perhaps intended to serve the deceased in the afterlife. The object could also reasonably be interpreted as an offering to a god.
