Teapot

The two Chinese Cabinets created when the palace at Schönbrunn was remodelled in 1745/46 were furnished with precious objects from Asia around 1760. They attest to the eighteenth-century predilection for Far Eastern lacquerware, silk wall-hangings and porcelain which had an increasing influence on the interiors of aristocratic residences in Europe.
