The overall increase in leisure time, income, and mobility for much of California's population in the post-World War II boom resulted in an increased demand for recreational resources. As a result, the State undertook studies of California's potential recreational resources. This document shows the tentative outline of a 1946 study planned by the Committee for the Study of Recreation in California. The Committee paid particular attention to the potential responsibilities of state government in relation to recreation.
