The 750kV Cockcroft-Walton generator and Faraday cage

The new 750 kV Cockcroft-Walton generator was 'launched' March 18, so marking the first parts of the new linac. The machine in its Faraday cage made of aluminium sheets has all the emotive appearance of the high voltage sets of the early days. Its performance though is designed to be rather more impressive. Generating a voltage 50% higher than the old linac injector.
