The brown wash grisaille rendering creates a serene atmosphere, with views of ancient churches and castles seen through open windows. The sparsely furnished room, belonging to the artist, is furnished in the French taste, as seen in the asymmetrical chair between the windows and the lyre-supported table in front of it. The straight lines of Neo-Classicism pervade the small salon.
