Completing the trinity of Satan's workers, a third creature with "two horns, like a lamb" (Apocalypse 13:11) now emerges from the earth. The illuminator depicted the creature with cloven hooves, a red beard, and a hideous curved and pointed nose. Rising from the depths of the earth, this horrible creature forces people to pay homage to the seven-headed beast and even pushes a man forward toward the beast. It also makes "great signs" such as the fire that rains down from the heavens.
