Arts advocate and philanthropist Frances Lasker Brody and her husband, Sidney F. Brody, sit in their Holmby Hills, Los Angeles home. It was designed by architect A. Quincy Jones and decorated by William Haines. They recline on a white sofa under an enormous ceramic tile mural "Le Gerbe," made for the Brodys by Henri Matisse in 1953. She wears a black dress with a fitted bodice and sweeping skirt, plus strands of pearls at her neck. He wears a single-breasted grey suit.
