ON THE NILE

Ida Uhse does not say much about the voyage itself and mostly describe the places where the boat docks.
“27th of Dec. At nine in the morning we went on board the Nile boat Columbia, which was moored by the hotel. The Count had hired the boat for the entire voyage on the Nile, from Cairo to Aswan.”
“29th of Dec. Continued our voyage up the Nile passing through a changing landscape. On the one hand beautiful, and on the other desolate. At 6:30 in the morning, we passed the city of Beni Suef, which has a large sugar and linen industry. In the evening we arrived at Girga, a beautifully situated city.”
