The cortege with President Jomo Kenyatta’s body on the gun-carriage draped with Kenyan national flag, his Commander-in-Chief’s sword and the hat, being pulled by men drawn from the Kenyan armed forces. The gun-carriage was specially flown in from England. Nairobi, Kenya. 31st August, 1978. The country went into deep mourning for its favorite son, and Kenya’s renowned photojournalist Mohamed Amin, also known as ‘Six Camera Mo’, covered the state funeral and swearing in of Kenyatta’s successor, and former vice-president, Daniel Arap Moi.
