This telegram, sent to the Chief Commissioner of Police the day after the Glenrowan siege, requests that the police deal with the remains of the outlaws if no one comes to forward to claim them. The body of Joe Byrne was taken by train to Benalla that evening, whilst the charred remains of Dan and Steve were left to be claimed by family members.
