The ET as it falls away from the orbiter after separation on STS-121

STS121-E-05011 (4 July 2006)-- This picture of the STS-121 external tank
was taken with a digital still camera by an astronaut only seconds after separation from the Space Shuttle Discovery on launch day. Engineers, managers and flight controllers have carefully studied this image and other frames from this series as well as a number of pictures showing the falling ET as photographed from umbilical well cameras.
