The first coin minted in Sweden, a penning, during the reign of Olof Skötkonung 995-1022. The coin bears an image of the King and the text OLAF REX AN SITUN, indicating Sigtuna as his seat. Olof Skötkonung was the first ruler in Sweden to be baptized and to keep his faith throughut his life.
