Deze foto is genomen tijdens de expeditie naar het Sterrengebergte. Gouverneur van Nederlands Nieuw-Guinea Mr. P.J. Platteel en zijn vrouw krijgen tijdens een bezoek aan het basiskamp op Mabilabol uitleg van expeditieleider L.D. Brongersma. Het bezoek vond plaats van 10 t/m 13 juli.
