The medieval artefacts shown in the press illustration come from the collection of Baron von Minutoli. From 1839, he was the assessor of the registry (Regierungs-Assessor) in Legnica. In 1844 he was appointed a councilor of the regency (Regierungs-Rat). He remained in the clerical service until 1865. Alexander von Minutoli dealt with economic affairs. Its activities were aimed at improving and developing local crafts and industry. An important role in this task was played by the private collection of art and antiquities he was developing, made available to artists and manufacturers. Objects, also disseminated in the form of publications with photographic reproductions, served as models for artistic, handicraft and industrial products. Aleksander von Minutoli's collection was displayed on the first floor of the southern wing of the castle in Legnica in the years 1845–1875.
