This hoard of 5,252 Anglo-Saxon pennies of King's AEthelred II and Cnut was buried within a lead parcel for safekeeping in about 1035. The hoard contains silver coins made at numerous mints across England, and is expected to enlighten our understanding of the Anglo-Saxon economy.
